Calvin Wong

Calvin Wong is a Malaysian racing driver born on January 10, 1992, in Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia. Wong has been a prominent figure in the Malaysian racing scene, demonstrating his talent in various competitions. He was identified as one of the top local talents by Sepang International Circuit (SIC). In January 2018, Wong was selected to participate in a shoot-out organized by SIC to find the best driver for the TCR Asia Series. This opportunity arose from SIC's talent development program aimed at elevating Malaysian drivers to higher levels of racing in Asia, with the ultimate goal of having a Malaysian driver compete in the FIA World Touring Car Cup (WTCR).

Wong's participation in the SIC shoot-out was based on his performance in the Malaysian Championship Series (MCS), where he finished third in the Touring Production category in 2017. During the shoot-out, drivers were assessed on their physical fitness, presentation skills, and their performance in a TCR car, with judges evaluating their speed, consistency, technical feedback, and understanding.
