Bas Schouten, born on October 19, 1994, in Hoorn, Netherlands, is a Dutch auto racing driver with a diverse background in various international racing series. Schouten began his motorsport journey with karting in his home country before transitioning to auto racing in 2010. That year, he was selected for the KNAF Talent First program, alongside fellow racers Steijn Schothorst and Dennis van de Laar. His early career saw him competing in the amateur BMW E30 Cup and the Dutch Formula Ford Duratec championship, where he achieved a best result of fifth place at Circuit Park Zandvoort. In 2011, he secured third place in the Formula Ford championship and finished eighth at the Formula Ford Festival.
In 2012, Schouten expanded his racing endeavors, participating in both Formula Ford and the Benelux Radical SR3 Cup. He finished as runner-up in the Radical Cup championship. The year 2013 marked his entry into GT racing, where he competed in the Dutch Supercar Challenge Supersport division driving a BMW 1 Series GTR, sharing the car with Jeroen Mul and Joey van Splunteren. The team secured a third-place finish in the championship. In 2014, Schouten participated in the Dutch Supercar Challenge Super GT class, driving a Vicora V8, and also competed in six races of the MW-V6 Pickup Series. He also took part in the Acceleration 2014 series, including Formula Acceleration 1 at Assen.
More recently, Schouten has been involved in GT4 racing, achieving success in the GT4 European Series. In 2021, he participated in the Touring Car Endurance Series at Mugello Circuit, driving a BMW M3 E46 GTR with his father and cousin.
