Artem Valeryevich Markelov, born on September 10, 1994, is a Russian racing driver. Markelov last competed in the FIA Formula 2 Championship for HWA Team in 2020.
Markelov's career highlights include finishing fourth in the 2011 ADAC Formel Masters, where he secured one win and eleven podiums. He debuted in the GP2 Series in 2014 with Russian Time. Although his first season yielded only one point-scoring finish, he later became a formidable force in the series, known for his aggressive overtaking and ability to deliver results against the odds. In 2017, he finished as the runner-up in the FIA Formula 2 Championship. By 2018, Markelov had accumulated eight F2 race wins and fourteen podiums.
In 2018, Markelov also served as a Test and Development Driver for the Renault Sport Formula One Team, even participating in FP1 at the Russian Grand Prix in Sochi. In 2020, he returned to F2 with HWA Racelab, however, the season proved disappointing, as he only managed to score 5 points. Markelov is a fan favorite, known for his overtaking.
