Michael Lyons

Michael Lyons is a British racing driver who has made a name for himself in both contemporary and historic motorsport. Born on January 25, 1991, into a racing family, Lyons began his career in historic racing at the age of 16, a path less traveled compared to the typical karting route. He quickly established himself, winning the HSCC Formula Ford Novice Championship in 2007 and following up with the HSCC Formula Ford title and Classic Racing Cars crown in 2008. In 2009, he became the youngest driver to win the F1 race at the Silverstone Classic.

Lyons transitioned to contemporary motorsport in 2010, competing in Formula Renault BARC and Formula Renault UK. However, he found his stride in GT racing, joining the British GT grid in 2011 and securing a win in only his second round. Since then, he has achieved success in various GT championships, including the FIA GT3 European Championship and the Blancpain Endurance Series. He has also raced in the European Le Mans Series and the IMSA WeatherTech United SportsCar Championship.

Michael Lyons is known for his versatility, adept at handling a wide range of racing cars, from historic Formula 1 cars to modern GT3 machinery and Le Mans Prototypes. His experience extends to historic racing, where he continues to compete, even winning all three categories at the 2021 Monaco Historic F1 event. A member of the British Racing Drivers' Club (BRDC), Lyons also works as a racing instructor and is sought after for development roles.
