Michael Christensen

Michael Christensen, born on August 28, 1990, is a Danish racing driver currently competing in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) for Porsche in the Hypercar class, driving the #5 Porsche 963. His journey in motorsport began with a successful karting career, highlighted by winning the 2004 Nordic ICA Junior Championship and securing both Nordic and European titles in the ICA Junior class the following year. Christensen transitioned to open-wheel racing in 2008, participating in the Formula BMW Europe season.

In 2012, Christensen's career took a significant turn when he joined the Porsche young driver program. He demonstrated his potential in the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany and the Porsche Supercup, leading to his promotion to a factory driver for Porsche in 2014. Since then, he has achieved considerable success, including a GTLM class victory at the 12 Hours of Sebring and the North American Endurance Cup in his debut year as a factory driver. In 2018, Christensen secured a prestigious win in the GTE Pro class at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Entering his third season in the Porsche Penske Motorsport program in 2025, Christensen continues to be a vital part of Porsche's racing efforts. Paired with Julien Andlauer, and joined by Mathieu Jaminet at select races, he will be competing in the full FIA World Endurance Championship. With a decade of experience with Porsche, Christensen remains committed to pushing the limits and contributing to the team's success in the highly competitive world of endurance racing.
