The GT2 European Series, organized by SRO Motorsports Group, is a premier racing championship designed for gentleman drivers and aspiring professional racers. Positioned between the GT4 and GT3 categories in SRO's motorsport pyramid, the series provides a competitive platform for drivers to hone their skills with significant track time. The series features powerful GT2 cars from renowned manufacturers such as Audi, KTM, Maserati, Mercedes-AMG, and Lamborghini, with Ginetta also joining the lineup. These cars are characterized by higher outright power than GT3 cars but are less reliant on aerodynamics, making them more accessible for amateur drivers. The race weekends typically consist of free practice sessions, qualifying, and two 50-minute races with mandatory pit stops. The series supports the GT World Challenge Europe at many of its rounds, creating a festival of GTracing that attracts large crowds. The championship is contested across Pro-Am and Am classes, with a new Silver class to be introduced, each with its own standings and champions. This structure allows for a diverse grid of driver abilities, from FIA Bronze-rated amateurs to Silver-graded professionals in the Pro-Am class, ensuring a balanced and exciting racing environment.
