Jake Cowden, a 19-year-old racing driver from Aurora, Ontario, Canada, is rapidly making a name for himself in the world of motorsports. Currently focused on becoming a sports car/prototype driver and racing mechanic, Cowden's career began in go-karts at the age of 10, where he secured numerous series championships. His early success earned him recognition from the Aurora Sports Hall of Fame, who awarded him the 2021 Future Hall of Famer award.
Cowden's achievements include winning the 2022 Toyo Tires F1600 Championship and the 2023 Emzone RCC (Radical Cup Canada) Championship. In 2022, he was also selected for the Team Canada Scholarship, giving him the opportunity to compete in England at iconic circuits like Brands Hatch and Silverstone. In addition to car racing, Cowden hones his skills during the Canadian winters by participating in Ice Oval Snowmobile racing, following in the footsteps of racing legend Gilles Villeneuve. In 2023, he won the Semi-Pro F500 Championship in snowmobile racing, building and maintaining his sleds with his father.
Demonstrating versatility and adaptability, Cowden has experience racing on various track types, including street circuits, high-speed ovals, and technical road courses. He achieved four first-place finishes in the Quebec series at the tracks of Trois Rivieres' GP3R and Circuit Gilles Villeneuve for the Formula 1 Grand Prix support race. Academically inclined, Cowden is an Ontario Scholar and Specialist High Skills Major graduate from Aurora High School and plans to become a licensed automotive mechanic. He is also involved in fundraising for the Alzheimer's Society of Canada in honor of his grandmother. Cowden aspires to compete in GT racing, with a goal of racing in IMSA.
