David Hinton

David Hinton is a racing enthusiast with a deep-rooted passion for motorsports, whose journey began in Coventry, England. Growing up around his father's Jaguar restoration shop, Hinton was immersed in the world of classic cars from a young age, which ignited his love for racing. He honed his skills as a mechanic before moving to the United States at the age of 20.

In 2012, Hinton took on the role of President of Historic Sportscar Racing (HSR) and since then he has been a driving force, transforming HSR into a prominent organization that celebrates vintage sports car racing. Hinton expanded HSR's events, introducing the Classic 24 Hours at Daytona and the Classic 12 Hours at Sebring. HSR events showcase a diverse range of race cars, from 1950s-era models to former IMSA and Trans-Am racers, attracting both drivers and spectators.

Hinton's vision extends beyond preserving racing history; he actively seeks to engage younger generations by incorporating modern cars into HSR events. He also owns Heritage Motorsport, where his team maintains a collection of racing cars for clients from around the world. With his leadership, HSR has become a prominent sanctioning body, even overseeing the prestigious Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion.
