Christian Abt

Christian Abt, born on May 8, 1967, in Kempten, Germany, is a former race car driver and a versatile figure in the world of motorsports. Coming from a family deeply rooted in racing, his father Johann Abt was a racer, and his brother Hans-Jürgen Abt runs the well-known Abt Sportsline Audi racing teams and tuning company. This strong family connection undoubtedly fueled Christian's passion and career.

Abt's journey in motorsports began in motocross, where he achieved early success by becoming the German Motocross Champion in 1983. He transitioned to four-wheeled racing in 1990, quickly making his mark by winning the ADAC Formula School title. Further success followed in 1991 with a Formula BMW Junior title. He competed in various racing series, including German Formula 3, before making a significant shift to touring cars in 1996. In 1999, he won the German Super Tourenwagen Cup (STW). Abt also participated in prestigious events like the 24 Hours of Le Mans, achieving a podium finish in 2000.

Later in his career, Abt competed in the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters (DTM) from 2000 to 2007, achieving one win and several podium finishes. After retiring from DTM, he continued racing in series like the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany and the ADAC GT Masters, winning the latter in 2009. Besides his driving career, Christian Abt has also been involved in team management, showcasing his comprehensive understanding of motorsports. Today, he operates Christian Abt Classic, focusing on the restoration, service, and motorsport support for Porsche, Ferrari, and Jaguar sports and racing cars.
