Thomas Ambiel is a German racing driver who brings a wealth of experience to the track. Ambiel, who is 45 years old, started his motorsport journey in karting back in 1996. He then progressed to the ADAC Volkswagen Lupo Cup in 2002 and 2003. During his time in the Lupo Cup, he also participated in the VLN, a challenging endurance series held at the Nürburgring.
Ambiel's dedication paid off when he was crowned Junior champion in the VLN in 2004, driving a BMW M3 for Bonk Motorsport. He continued to compete in the VLN until 2007 when he had to step away from racing due to commitments to his IT company and family. In 2025, Ambiel joined the Prototype Cup Germany with Rinaldi Racing team. His stated goal is to reach the podium, with his project being named "OnePodiumTogether".
Despite the hiatus, Ambiel remained connected to the motorsport world, particularly through Gebhardt Motorsport, who supported him in his karting days. This connection led to his involvement in Fritz Gebhardt's return to racing in 2019. Now, Ambiel is back behind the wheel himself, eager to compete in the Prototype Cup Germany and build upon his past successes.
