Peter Portante

Peter Portante, born on February 24, 1996, is an American racing driver with a career spanning various open-wheel racing series. Hailing from Plainville, Connecticut, Portante began his racing journey at the young age of 7, quickly making a name for himself in the Northeast karting scene. He secured numerous pole positions and wins on the Legend Car oval circuit and in the NASCAR Late Model division at Stafford Speedway.

Transitioning to open-wheel racing, Portante joined the Skip Barber Race Series in 2012, honing his skills and securing three wins, which earned him an invitation to the Skip Barber Race Series Championship Shootout. Emerging from the shootout with a scholarship, he entered the 2013 Cooper Tires U.S. F2000 National Championship Powered by Mazda, driving for Belardi Auto Racing. He achieved two podium finishes and several top-ten results that season. Continuing his ascent, Portante also won the SCCA Formula Continental National Championship with ArmsUp Motorsports in 2013.

Portante continued in the U.S. F2000 National Championship in 2014 with ArmsUp Motorsports, improving to sixth in the championship standings and achieving a personal best of second place at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. In 2017, he won the Atlantic Championship Series with K-Hill Motorsports. Beyond racing, Portante serves as a driver coach at K-Hill Motorsports, mentoring aspiring drivers with his extensive racing knowledge and experience.
