Maximilian Opalski

Maximilian Opalski is an American racing driver and team owner who is quickly making a name for himself in the world of motorsports. Born in Chicago, Illinois, Max began his racing journey at the young age of five, starting with kid karts. He honed his skills in regional series like WKA and Route 66 before moving to Colorado in 2016, a pivotal moment that propelled him onto the national stage.

Opalski's career progressed through various karting classes, achieving success in the X30 Junior class with multiple top-ten finishes in national races and podiums in regional events. 2019 marked a breakout year, demonstrating his growing speed and race-winning potential. In 2020, he secured multiple wins and podiums in series such as the Challenge of the Americas and the United States Pro Kart Series. Transitioning to senior classes in 2021, Max earned a pole position and second-place finish at ROK the Rio.

In 2022, Opalski transitioned to sports car racing, joining Copeland Motorsports in the Idemitsu Mazda MX-5 Cup. Continuing with Copeland Motorsports in 2023, he set his sights high for the new season. In 2024, at the age of 18, Opalski launched his own team, Max Opalski Racing, and entered the IMSA Mustang Challenge. He is believed to be the youngest team owner in the IMSA paddock. Driving the No. 2 Ford Mustang Dark Horse R, Opalski is focused on achieving podium finishes and building a successful customer racing program. He secured a strong fourth-place finish at Indy in the Mustang Challenge.
