Tinjauan Pembalap

Hans Hjelm, born on December 16, 1926, and passed away on August 17, 2006, was a celebrated Swedish ice hockey player who also played bandy. He is primarily remembered for his time with Hammarby IF, where he secured two domestic titles. Hjelm also represented Sweden on the international stage, earning a silver medal at the 1947 World Championships.

Hjelm's ice hockey journey began in his hometown of Stockholm, where he joined Hammarby IF as a youth player. By 1943, at the age of 17, he had already made his debut with the senior team, competing in Division 1, the top tier of Swedish hockey. In 1945, he played a pivotal role in securing Hammarby IF's first Swedish championship, scoring the decisive overtime goal against Södertälje SK in a thrilling 3-2 victory. Hjelm made seven appearances for the Swedish national team and contributed to their silver medal-winning performance at the 1947 World Championships. After a season with Atlas Diesels IF in 1948-49, he returned to Hammarby IF and added another Swedish championship to his name in 1951, once again defeating Södertälje SK 3-2 in the final.

Before retiring, Hjelm also spent a season with Saltsjöbadens IF in the second tier. By the time he hung up his skates in 1956, he had played a total of 185 games for Hammarby IF, scoring 47 goals. Like many hockey players of his era, Hjelm also played bandy, representing Hammarby IF in the Allsvenskan for one season in 1946.
