Dorsey Schroeder

Dorsey Alan Schroeder, born on February 5, 1953, is a highly accomplished American race car driver with a career spanning several decades. Schroeder's passion for automobiles began early, growing up in a car-dealing family. In 1971, at the age of 19, he made history by becoming the first person under 21 to receive an SCCA National competition license, paving the way for younger drivers in the sport.

Schroeder's career highlights include winning the 1989 Trans-Am Series championship as a rookie with Roush Racing, securing six wins that season. He also claimed the 1990 IMSA GT Championship GTO class title. His success in Trans-Am included 17 wins and an impressive 52 top-five finishes in 81 starts. Beyond Trans-Am, he participated in Grand-Am, American Le Mans Series, and even NASCAR events, showcasing his versatility as a driver.

In recent years, Schroeder has transitioned into roles beyond driving. Since 2015, he has served as Race Director for the Pirelli World Challenge series, and since 2018, he has been the Race Director for the Trans Am Series presented by Pirelli SCCA Pro Racing. He also oversees on-track competition at HSR events and enjoys racing vintage cars. He has also served as a color analyst for sports car racing broadcasts, sharing his insights and experiences with viewers.
