Hiroki Katoh

Hiroki Katoh, born on February 23, 1968, is a highly experienced Japanese racing driver and team manager. Katoh's racing journey began in karting in 1990 before transitioning to four-wheeled racing in 1992 with Formula Toyota. He further honed his skills in the Japanese Formula 3 Championship, where he secured a notable 6th place finish at the prestigious Macau Grand Prix.

Katoh has been a mainstay in the All Japan Grand Touring Car Championship (JGTC), now known as Super GT, since 1997. He achieved his best championship results in 2006 and 2007, finishing as runner-up with Cars Tokai Dream28. By 2023, he had accumulated seven race wins in the series. In 2021, Cars Tokai Dream28 merged with INGING to form muta Racing INGING, with Katoh driving alongside Ryohei Sakaguchi. While stepping back from full-time racing in 2023 to become the team's director, he remains involved as a third driver.

Beyond Super GT, Katoh has participated in the 24 Hours of Le Mans on multiple occasions. His best finish at Le Mans was in 2000, where he secured 5th place overall. In addition to his on-track activities, Katoh is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of drivers, serving as an instructor at the Honda Racing School in Suzuka and as a driving advisor. Throughout his Super GT career, Katoh has amassed an impressive record, including over 189 starts, 7 wins, 22 podiums, 11 pole positions, and 9 fastest laps.
