Luc Braams was a Dutch racing driver who competed in various GT series, primarily in the GT4 category. Born on October 23, 1961, he discovered his passion for motorsports later in life after achieving success in business. Braams quickly became a driving force in the GT4 class, helping it to survive a difficult period and ultimately achieve worldwide success. He passed away on May 22, 2024, after battling cancer.
Braams often shared cars with his wife, Liesette Braams, in GT4 competitions, driving for their own team, Las Moras. His son, Max Braams, also contributed to the sport, working as a series coordinator for GT4 Europe. Luc remained an active driver until 2019, with his final GT4 Europe appearance at Monza alongside Liesette, where they secured two podium finishes. He achieved notable success, including winning the "Pro-Am" title in 2017 with Duncan Huisman. In 2016, driving a Renault RS01 FGT3 for V8 Racing, he secured an overall win in the 24H Series at Mugello, alongside Max Braams, Nicky Pastorelli, and Miguel Ramos.
Beyond his accomplishments on the track, Braams was known for his character and commitment to the sport. His company, Burando, was a valuable partner in motorsports, and his team, Las Moras, provided opportunities for other drivers. He is fondly remembered in the GT4 paddock and beyond.
