Julien Canal

Julien Antoine Jules Canal, born on July 15, 1982, is a French racing driver with a distinguished career in endurance racing. Canal's journey began in karting, where he secured third place in the French Championship Elite in 2000. He transitioned to single-seaters in 2003, competing in French Formula Renault and Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 for four seasons, achieving his first podium finish in 2006.

Canal made a successful switch to GT racing in 2007, participating in the Porsche Carrera Cup France for three years. In 2010, he entered the FFSA GT Championship and debuted in the Le Mans Series. That same year marked his first participation in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, where he achieved a class victory in GT1 with Larbre Compétition. He continued his success with further class wins at Le Mans in 2011 and 2012.

From 2014, Canal became a fixture in LMP2 prototype racing, initially with G-Drive Racing. He secured the FIA World Endurance Championship LMP2 title in both 2015 and 2017. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated consistency and skill, earning numerous podiums and wins in various endurance racing series, including the European Le Mans Series. In 2023 he competed with Alpine in the FIA World Endurance Championship, securing a podium at Monza.
