John Hennessy

John Hennessey is an American entrepreneur and racing enthusiast, best known as the founder and CEO of Hennessey Performance Engineering (HPE) and Hennessey Special Vehicles. Born with a passion for speed, Hennessey's early racing endeavors fueled his ambition to create high-performance vehicles. He initially gained recognition in the early 1990s by racing a modified Mitsubishi 3000GT at events like the Pikes Peak Hill Climb, the Silver State Classic, and the Bonneville Salt Flats, where he set a class world record.

In 1991, Hennessey turned his passion into a business by modifying imports out of his garage. This evolved into building 1000-horsepower twin-turbo Dodge Vipers, which garnered international acclaim. Today, Hennessey Performance is a leading automotive tuner, having built over 10,000 specialty vehicles, including supercars, super trucks, and high-powered muscle cars. In 2017, he founded Hennessey Special Vehicles, dedicated to designing and manufacturing the world's fastest cars, including the Venom F5. His company is based in Texas, where it also has its own test track.
