Yuga Furutani

Yuga Furutani (born June 9, 2000) is a rising Japanese racing driver making a name for himself in both single-seaters and GT racing. Furutani's career began in 2020, participating in both the F4 Japanese Championship and the Formula Regional Japanese Championship. While his F4 debut was modest, he found greater success in Formula Regional Japanese, securing the runner-up position in the standings. In 2021, he clinched the Formula Regional Japanese Championship title, marking a significant milestone in his early career.

In 2022, Furutani stepped up to Super Formula Lights with TOM'S, demonstrating consistent performance and securing several podium finishes. Simultaneously, he embarked on his Super GT career in the GT300 class with Anest Iwata Racing with Arnage. While balancing his university studies at Waseda University with his racing commitments, Furutani has shown dedication and determination. His father, Hideaki, owns Hiroshima Toyopet Racing, for which Yuga competed in Super Taikyu, further solidifying his connection to the sport.

Driven by ambition, Furutani has his sights set on championship titles in both Super Formula Lights and Super GT300. His ultimate goal is to advance to the Super GT500 and Super Formula circuits, solidifying his position among Japan's elite racing drivers. He also participated in the Ferrari Challenge Japan, winning both races in the opening round at Suzuka Circuit in his first time driving the 488 Challenge Evo.
