Wolfgang Payr is an Austrian racing driver with a diverse motorsport background. Born on April 9, 1964, in Innsbruck, Austria, Payr began his racing journey later in life, around the age of 50, initially focusing on off-road motorcycle rallies before transitioning to prototype racing.
In recent years, Payr has been active in the Prototype Cup Germany, driving for Luxembourg-based team Racing Experience. In 2023, he secured the runner-up position in the Trophy competition. While not a full-time professional driver, Payr approaches racing with ambition and a desire to improve. He acknowledges the challenges of competing against younger, more experienced drivers in the highly competitive LMP3 series but values the learning experience it provides.
Beyond prototype racing, Payr's motorsport endeavors have included participation in the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series and various rally events, including a bid to compete in the Dakar Rally.
