Matthew Mccutcheon

Matthew McCutcheon is a rising star in New Zealand motorsport, showcasing versatility across various racing disciplines. Born on March 5, 2003, the Auckland native began his racing career in dirt track speedway, quickly establishing himself as a dominant force. At just 15 years old, he became the youngest feature race winner at Western Springs and secured a Speedway New Zealand championship.

Transitioning to circuit racing, McCutcheon's talent continued to shine. He received the 2019 SpeedSport Scholarship, which enabled him to compete in Formula First, and in 2021, he was the North Island Formula Ford champion and finished as runner-up in the national championship. His achievements also include winning the 2019 Western Springs F2 Midgets series. Supported by Supercars champion Shane van Gisbergen and his father Robert, who ran his Formula Ford car, McCutcheon benefitted from invaluable data analysis and guidance.

In recent years, McCutcheon has expanded his horizons, participating in the Toyota 86 Racing Series, where he secured a race win in his rookie season. In 2023, he aimed to compete for the Super3 title in Australia with Eggleston Motorsport, driving a Triple Eight-built VF Commodore. McCutcheon's ultimate goal is to race in the Supercars series. He sampled a Supercar at an Erebus Motorsport evaluation day and with Eggleston Motorsport. With his impressive track record and determination, Matthew McCutcheon is undoubtedly a driver to watch in the world of motorsport.
