Etienne Cheli is a French racing driver born on February 9, 2001, in Chalon-sur-Saône. His passion for motorsports ignited at a young age, inspired by his father, a former European Formula 3 champion. Cheli began his racing career in karting at the age of 12, quickly demonstrating his talent and attracting attention from prominent figures in the racing world.
Throughout his karting career, Cheli achieved notable success, including a 3rd place finish in the BFC Championship in the Cadet category in 2013 and becoming the BFC X30 Senior Vice-Champion in 2018. In 2019, he showcased his skills on the international stage, finishing 9th at the IAME World Finals against 147 drivers. Cheli was also a finalist in the F4 Feed Racing competition, earning tests in Formula 4 cars with Fortec, Teo Martin, and CRAM. Jacques Villeneuve and Patrick Lemarié recognized his potential and decided to support his career after his performance in the FEED Racing School.
Transitioning to GT racing, Cheli has become a regular competitor in both the French FFSA GT4 Championship and the GT4 European Series. In 2023, driving a Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO for Xwift Racing Events, he secured the FFSA GT4 Silver title. He achieved 3 pole positions, 3 wins and 9 podiums out of 12 races in the same year and finished 4th in the GT4 European Series (Silver) with 2 wins and 4 podiums. Cheli continues to pursue his motorsport dream, aiming to climb the ranks and make his mark in the world of racing.
