Erik Janis, born on September 23, 1987, is a Czech racing driver with a career spanning various racing disciplines. Janis began his racing journey in karting at a young age, securing multiple Czech Champion titles in the 1990s. Progressing from karts, he transitioned to touring cars, where he became the youngest champion in the Czech Touring Car Championship's history in 2002.
Janis has experience in several racing series, including Formula BMW ADAC, the Formula Three Euroseries, where he clinched the rookie rankings in his first season, and the International Formula Master series. He also participated in the A1 Grand Prix series as a main driver for A1 Team Czech Republic. In 2008, he was a Mercedes-Benz factory pilot in the Formula Three Euroseries. More recently, Janis has been involved in GT racing, participating in the Fanatec GT2 European Series - Pro-Am.
Since 2014, alongside his racing career, Janis has been engaged in engineering activities for GT3 teams, showcasing his comprehensive understanding of motorsport. He was also involved as an engineer in Senkyr Motorsport's second-place finish in the International GT Masters 2019 at the Red Bull Ring. His brother, Jaroslav Janis, is also a race car driver.
