Kakunoshin Ohta

Kakunoshin Ohta, born on June 22, 1999, is a rising star in Japanese motorsport. From Kyoto, Japan, Ohta began his racing journey at the young age of 3, participating in karting events. His career gained momentum when he entered the Suzuka Racing School Formula (SRS-F) in 2018, leading to his debut in the FIA-F4 Japanese Championship in 2019. After a few seasons in F4, he progressed to Super Formula Lights (SFL) in 2022, showcasing his talent with four wins and ultimately securing second place in the championship. That same year, he also began competing in the SUPER GT GT300 class, achieving a podium finish in his very first race.

In 2023, Ohta stepped up to both the GT500 class of SUPER GT and the Super Formula Championship, marking his entry into Japan's premier racing series. In Super Formula, he races for docomo Team Dandelion Racing. The 2023 season culminated in his first Super Formula victory in the final round. In December 2024, it was announced that Ohta will make his IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship debut in 2025, driving the Acura ARX-06 for Acura Meyer Shank Racing in three races, including the prestigious Rolex 24 at Daytona.
