Matt Crafton

Matthew Justin "Matt" Crafton, born on June 11, 1976, is a highly accomplished American professional stock car racing driver. Hailing from Tulare, California, Crafton has cemented his name in NASCAR history, particularly in the Craftsman Truck Series. Currently, he competes full-time in the Truck Series, driving the No. 88 Ford F-150 for ThorSport Racing, a team he has been associated with for a long time.

Crafton's journey in motorsports began early, racing go-karts from the age of seven, before transitioning to midgets and mini sprints. His career took a significant turn when he filled in for his injured father, Danny Crafton, in the Featherlite Southwest Series in 1996. This opportunity paved the way for a full-time role, culminating in a championship win in 2000. His success allowed him to make his NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series debut for SealMaster Racing.

Crafton is a three-time champion of the Truck Series, securing titles in 2013, 2014, and 2019. His consecutive championships in 2013 and 2014 were a historic first for the series. Notably, his 2019 championship was unique as he achieved it without winning a race during the season, demonstrating his remarkable consistency. Over his long career, Crafton has achieved 15 wins, placing him among the top 10 in the Truck Series all-time list. He also holds the record for the most consecutive Truck Series starts. Matt Crafton is married to Lauren Crafton, and they have two children: a daughter named Elladee, and a son named Matthew.
