Josh Pierson

Josh Pierson, born on February 14, 2006, is a 19-year-old American racing driver making waves in both open-wheel and endurance racing. Hailing from Wilsonville, Oregon, Pierson currently competes in Indy NXT with HMD Motorsports, the FIA World Endurance Championship with United Autosports, and the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship for TDS Racing. Known for his intense focus and dedication, Pierson's career began in karting, where he secured numerous championships and twice represented Team USA at the "Olympics of Karting."

Pierson transitioned to open-wheel cars at 13, participating in F1600 and USF2000 in the Road to Indy Series. At 15, he made the leap to endurance racing in LMP2, becoming the youngest driver to race in the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona. He continued to break records, becoming the youngest race winner in the Asian Le Mans Series with consecutive wins in Abu Dhabi alongside Paul di Resta. In 2022, at just 16, Pierson became the youngest driver to ever compete in the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans, finishing 6th in his class and 10th overall. He also secured a win in the World Endurance Championship at the 1000 Miles of Sebring.

In addition to his racing accomplishments, Pierson was named the first-ever development driver for Ed Carpenter Racing in 2023, with aspirations of competing in the NTT INDYCAR SERIES. Describing driving as "like art," Pierson balances his racing career with musical interests, playing the piano, guitar, and saxophone. He also enjoys snowboarding and dedicates himself to rigorous training and conditioning to enhance his performance on the track.
