Johannes van Overbeek

Johannes van Overbeek, born on April 14, 1973, is a Dutch-American former race car driver. Van Overbeek's career began with go-karts as a child, transitioning to sedans at the age of eighteen. Since 1996, he has been a consistent presence in North American racing, participating in series like the Speed World Challenge, the American Le Mans Series (ALMS), and Grand-Am. Most recently he drove a Nissan Onroak DPi for Extreme Speed Motorsports.

A significant achievement came in 2007 when he secured the Porsche Cup, recognizing him as the top non-factory Porsche driver globally. He continued his strong performance in ALMS, consistently finishing within the top three in the driver's championship from 2004 to 2008. In 2012, partnering with Scott Sharp at Extreme Speed Motorsports, he achieved 2nd in the ALMS GT championship driving a Ferrari 458 GT2, securing two wins for the team.

Van Overbeek's experience extends to the international stage, having competed in four 24 Hours of Le Mans races, with his best result being a third-place finish in GT2 in 2005. He achieved sixth in GT2 in 2008, and fourth in 2006. Away from the track, Van Overbeek resides in Oakland, California, with his wife and two sons.
