Ernestas Staponkus

Ernestas Staponkus is a Lithuanian racing driver and team owner with a diverse background in motorsports. He began his racing career in autocross, inspired by his coach Arvydas, a prominent figure in the European Autocross Championship. Staponkus transitioned to rallycross, competing in the European Rallycross Championship's Super1600 class, even qualifying for a semi-final in 2007. He continued racing in the Super1600 class until 2017.

In 2018, Staponkus shifted his focus from driving to team management, founding ES Motorsport. The team initially prepared for World RX with a Skoda Fabia Supercar but faced delays. ES Motorsport entered the World Championship scene in 2019. In 2023, ES Motorsport entered the Baltic Touring Car Championship with a GT3-class car, securing the championship title in the 4-hour endurance race and the GT PRO category victory.

Staponkus's passion for motorsports extends beyond rallycross. His team, ES Motorsport, has made a significant impact in circuit racing in the Baltic States, including GT3 racing. He remains active in the racing scene as a team owner and manager, balancing his passion for motorsports with a practical approach.
