Romain Boeckler is a 22-year-old French racing driver born on August 17, 2002, hailing from Villette, France. Currently, in 2024, he is leading the Junior standings in the Ligier JS Cup France while driving the #15 Ligier JS2 R for TMP by LVR. Boeckler's career began in karting, participating in the FFSA Academy Junior Karting Championship in 2017. He then transitioned to single-seaters, competing in the French F4 Championship in 2018, followed by the 308 Racing Cup in 2019.
In 2020, Boeckler secured the Junior title in the Clio Cup France and finished seventh overall. He gained experience in the Clio Cup Europe in 2021 before joining the Funyo Sprint Cup. There he achieved the Vice-Champion Espoir title in 2022 and Champion Espoir in 2023. Boeckler is also currently in his fourth year of engineering school, combining his racing aspirations with technical knowledge.
Boeckler's ultimate goal is to become a professional racing driver and compete in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. While Formula 1 was once a dream, he has adapted his focus towards endurance racing. He believes the mix of gentleman drivers and junior program drivers creates a positive dynamic in the Ligier JS Cup France, allowing everyone to learn and improve.
