Daniel Diaz-Varela Bertschinger

Daniel Diaz-Varela Bertschinger, born on June 1, 1973, is a Spanish racing driver and entrepreneur hailing from Barcelona. While not as widely known as some of his compatriots in Formula 1, like Fernando Alonso or Carlos Sainz Jr., Diaz-Varela has carved out a significant presence in GT racing. He has participated in several GT events, including GT Open in 2021, GT Cup Open, French GT4, and the Barcelona 24 Hours Series.

Diaz-Varela achieved notable success in the GT Cup Open, securing the Overall Vice Champion title with one win and the Am Champion title with eight wins in 2020. In 2019, he finished 3rd in the Am category with one win. His racing resume also includes participation in the French GT4 in 2018 and multiple appearances in the Barcelona 24 Hours Series from 2015 to 2017. In 2016, he clinched the CER Spanish Endurance GT Championship. Further demonstrating his versatility, he has competed in the Porsche Carrera Cup France (2015-2016) and the Ferrari Challenge Europe in 2013.
