William Glavin III

William "Billy" Glavin III is an American racing driver and team owner, deeply immersed in the world of motorsports. Glavin's passion for racing ignited early, fueled by his father's interest in cars and track days. This early exposure led him to convert a BMW e30 M3 into a race car during his junior year of college, solidifying his desire to pursue a career in racing. He holds a degree in physics from Middlebury College.

After graduation, Glavin gained valuable experience at Hendrick Motorsports, a powerhouse in NASCAR, and later worked at HMS Motorsport on the supply side of the industry. In 2017, he and his father, William Glavin Jr., established Jr III Racing. The team started as a service shop for vintage cars and has expanded to compete in IMSA (International Motor Sports Association) events, the World Racing League, and various vintage racing series. Jr III Racing currently operates out of Mooresville, NC.

Beyond his driving and team ownership roles, Glavin was appointed as the General Manager of United Autosports USA in 2023, further cementing his presence in the American racing landscape. He oversees the team's U.S.-based operations, including their LMP2 program in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. Glavin's career reflects a multifaceted involvement in racing, spanning driving, team management, and technical expertise, driven by a lifelong love for the sport. He is classified as a Bronze-level driver by the FIA.
