Sebastian Saavedra

Sebastian Saavedra, born on June 2, 1990, is a Colombian racing driver hailing from Bogotá. A long-time resident of the United States since 2006, Saavedra's career began in karting before transitioning to Formula BMW USA. He later competed in the Austrian and ATS Formel 3 Cups in Europe. In 2009, he returned to America and participated in Indy Lights, earning the Indy Lights Rookie of the Year award. The following year, he made his debut in the Indianapolis 500.

Saavedra has an extensive history in the IndyCar Series, driving for various teams including Conquest Racing, Andretti Autosport, and KVSH Racing. His best finish in an IndyCar race was eleventh at the São Paulo Indy 300 in 2011. Although he secured a pole position during his IndyCar career, he has yet to achieve a win or podium finish in the series. Beyond IndyCar, Saavedra has also explored other racing disciplines, including Red Bull Global Rallycross in 2016 and the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.

In 2019, Saavedra secured a class win at the 24 Hours of Daytona in the LMP2 class with DragonSpeed. More recently, in 2023, he participated in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America. Currently, he serves as a driver coach for Alliance Racing in both the Trofeo and sports car series, while also occasionally participating in races himself.
