Robert Hackwood

Robert Hackwood is an Australian racing driver born in Brisbane, Queensland, on April 14, 1987. From a young age, Hackwood displayed a keen interest in motorsports, dedicating himself to honing the skills necessary for a successful racing career. Unable to immediately pursue karting, he gained valuable experience at Terry Skene's Kingston Park Raceway, where he developed his ability to adapt to different karts.

Hackwood's passion for motorsports led him to study Mechanical Engineering at the Queensland University of Technology. During this time, he became a key member of the QUT Motorsport team, contributing to the development of their Formula SAE car. In 2007, he partnered with Jim Reardon to compete in the Tighe Cams Mt Cotton Hill Climb Series, where his aggressive driving style quickly garnered attention.

Hackwood's racing experience includes participation in the Australian Formula Ford Championship and the Touring Car Masters series. More recently, he has been involved in TA2 racing. Beyond driving, Rob also runs Encore Auto Sport, a race car preparation business. He prepares cars for various categories, including Toyota 86s, Queensland Production Sports Cars, and Australian Trans-Am.
