Přehled závodníka
Owen Trinkler is a seasoned American racing driver with over 30 years of experience across various motorsports disciplines, ranging from open-wheel racing and NASCAR to IMSA sports car racing. A second-generation racer, Trinkler began his career at the young age of 10, following in his father's footsteps. He was selected as one of 25 young drivers to participate in Team Green's Indy Car Academy Scholarship in 1996. In 1997, at age 20, Trinkler achieved top-10 finishes at both the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona and the 12 Hours of Sebring.
Trinkler's professional career highlights include victories in the 2002 and 2003 Rolex Sportscar Series and Grand-Am Cup Series. Driving for Team TGM, he currently competes in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge. In 2018, Trinkler, along with co-driver Hugh Plumb, secured the GS championship with three wins in the final five races and finished on the lead lap in every race. His accomplishments also include a second-place finish in the 2017 IMSA Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge (CTSCC) points championship while driving for CRG Racing. Trinkler also holds the record for the most career starts in the IMSA CTSCC, with nine race wins.
Outside of racing, Trinkler shares his expertise as an instructor at the Porsche Driving Experience and Panoz Racing School. He is also actively involved in mentoring. In late August 2024, Trinkler returned to competition at Watkins Glen International, just over eight months after recovering from third-degree burns sustained in a testing incident.
