Michael Cullen

Michael Cullen is a highly accomplished Irish racing driver with a career spanning over four decades. Born on March 25, 1963, he hails from Terenure in Dublin and has deep roots in motorsport, inspired by his father, Des Cullen, a successful competitor in both motorcycle and car racing. Michael began his own racing journey on two wheels before transitioning to cars.

Cullen has achieved significant success in various racing disciplines, earning him the nickname "The Tin Top King." He has claimed numerous titles in Irish motorsport, including the Dunlop Uno Cup, Castrol 205 GTI Championship, and Dunlop Saloon Car Championship, remarkably securing four titles in a single season in 1993. He also ventured into the UK Ford Fiesta Championship. A notable highlight of his career is his dominance in the highly competitive European Ferrari Challenge, where he was crowned champion twice, in 2005 and 2007.

Even after 40 years in racing, Cullen continues to compete and win. In recent years, he has been active in historic racing in the UK, driving a Cooper S and a Lotus Cortina Mk1, and has also participated in the Irish Strykers Championship. His enduring passion for racing and continued success have solidified his status as one of the most successful and respected club drivers in UK and Irish motorsport.
