Matteo Franceschetti

Matteo Franceschetti is an Italian racing driver with a diverse background encompassing athletics, law, and entrepreneurship. Growing up in Italy, Franceschetti was immersed in motorsports through his father, a hillclimbing champion. This passion led him to karting in his teens and later to racing cars. He participated in two seasons of hillclimbing, competing in the European Championship, and raced in the 12 Hours of Abu Dhabi in a Maserati GT, finishing third in the GT4 category.

While racing is a significant part of his personal history, Franceschetti's professional career has taken a different path. Before age 30, he started two clean-tech companies on two continents and worked as a securities lawyer. He is now primarily known as the Co-Founder and CEO of Eight Sleep, a company focused on sleep fitness. He founded Eight Sleep after realizing the need to optimize sleep using technology, drawing from his background as an athlete focused on recovery and performance.

Although his racing career may not be extensive in terms of professional racing circuits, Franceschetti's passion for motorsports remains evident. He even started his first business taking pictures of racing cars at local tracks. He has also partnered Eight Sleep with the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula 1 Team and has been quoted that Formula 1 was a huge part of his life. His continued interest highlights how his early experiences in racing have shaped his drive and focus on optimizing human performance in all areas of life.
