Mathieu de Barbuat

Mathieu de Barbuat is a French racing driver specializing in endurance racing, particularly in sports prototype cars. Born in France, de Barbuat began his motorsport career in karting, competing in various championships such as the National Series Karting from 2017 to 2019. In 2020, he transitioned to single-seaters, participating in the FEED (Formule 4) championship.

De Barbuat's endurance racing career took off in 2021. He had the opportunity to drive a Duqueine M30 - D08 for Mühlner Motorsport in the Michelin Le Mans Cup at Paul Ricard. His performance led to a call-up from Cool Racing to participate in Road to Le Mans, driving a Ligier JS P320. Later in 2021, he joined DKR Engineering, piloting a Duqueine M30 - D08 in the European Le Mans Series (ELMS). In his first ELMS race at Monza, he secured a victory alongside Laurents Hörr. The duo went on to win again at Spa-Francorchamps, contributing to DKR Engineering's LMP3 championship title. In 2022, he participated in the Asian Le Mans Series with DKR Engineering.

At only 17 years old in 2022, de Barbuat expressed a strong ambition to compete in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in an LMH or LMDh prototype within three to four years.
