Jonas Ried

Jonas Ried, born on December 18, 2004, is a rising German racing driver currently making his mark in the world of endurance racing. The 20-year-old is presently competing in the European Le Mans Series for Proton Competition. He is the son of Christian Ried, who also competes in the FIA World Endurance Championship and owns the Proton Competition team.

Ried's career began in karting, where he achieved early success, including a second-place finish in the Bavarian-based Kart Trophy Weiß-Blau in 2014. He participated in national-level karting events such as the ADAC Kart Masters. In 2021, Ried transitioned to single-seaters, joining BWT Mücke Motorsport in the Formula 4 UAE Championship. He secured his first podiums in car racing, with one at Yas Island and another in Dubai, ultimately finishing ninth in the standings. He also competed full-time in the Italian F4 Championship that year.

In 2023, Ried shifted his focus to endurance racing, initially driving for Rinaldi Racing in the LMP3 class of the Asian Le Mans Series. He then joined his father's Proton Competition team for a season in the European Le Mans Series, competing in the LMP2 category. He continues to build his experience in endurance racing, participating in the Asian Le Mans Series in 2024 and 2025, showcasing his commitment to the sport.
