Jean Eric Vergne

Jean-Éric Vergne, often known as JEV, is a French racing driver born on April 25, 1990. He currently competes in the FIA World Endurance Championship for Peugeot and in Formula E for DS Penske. Vergne's career began in karting at the young age of four, and he quickly progressed through the ranks. His early success led to support from Red Bull, and he became a member of their Junior Team.

Vergne made his mark in Formula Renault, securing the French title. He then won the 2010 British Formula 3 Championship and finished as runner-up in the 2011 Formula Renault 3.5 Series. These achievements paved the way for his Formula 1 debut with Scuderia Toro Rosso in 2012, where he competed for three seasons, participating in 58 Grands Prix and achieving a best finish of sixth.

After leaving Formula 1, Vergne transitioned to Formula E in its inaugural season in 2014. He initially joined Andretti before moving to Virgin Racing. In his third season, he joined Techeetah and achieved his first Formula E victory in Montreal. He went on to win two consecutive Formula E Championships in 2017-18 and 2018-19, becoming the first driver to achieve this feat. Throughout his Formula E career, he has accumulated numerous wins, podiums, and pole positions, establishing himself as one of the series' most successful drivers. As of 2025, he continues to compete with DS Penske, adding to his impressive record in the all-electric championship and the FIA World Endurance Championship with Peugeot.
