Helio Castroneves

Hélio Castroneves, born on May 10, 1975, is a Brazilian auto racing icon, celebrated as one of only four drivers to have conquered the Indianapolis 500 a record four times (2001, 2002, 2009, and 2021). Known for his infectious enthusiasm and the signature "Spiderman" fence climb after victories, Castroneves has cemented his place as a fan favorite and a legend in the sport. Beyond his IndyCar achievements, which include 31 wins and 50 poles as of 2025, Castroneves has also excelled in the IMSA SportsCar Championship, securing the overall championship in 2020 with Team Penske and triumphing in the 24 Hours of Daytona three consecutive times (2021-2023).

Castroneves' journey to racing stardom began in go-karts at age 10 and progressed through Formula Chevrolet Brazil, Formula 3 Sudamericana, and British Formula Three before arriving in the American open-wheel scene. After initial seasons in CART, he joined Team Penske, where he quickly became a dominant force. He resides in South Florida with his fiancée Adriana and their daughter Mikaella.
