Gabriele Marotta

Gabriele Marotta is an Italian racing driver born on July 31, 1967. Marotta's career spans several decades and encompasses a diverse range of racing disciplines, including single-seaters, touring cars, and GT competitions.

Marotta began his racing journey in 1986 in the British Formula Ford B Championship before switching to the French Formula Ford Championship in 1987 and the French Formula Renault Turbo B Championship in 1988. In 1991, he transitioned to the Italian Touring Car Championship, where he competed for several years, achieving race wins and podiums with Toyota Italia and Alfa Romeo's Nordauto Engineering. Between 1996 and 2005, Marotta participated in various championships, such as the BPR Global GT Series, European Touring Car Series, and Formula Palmer Audi. Notably, he secured the Coppa Italia in 1999 driving a Peugeot 405 Mi16 and clinched the European Touring Car Series title in 2000 with a Peugeot. In 2010, he won the GT4 class in the Superstars GTSprint championship with a Maserati fielded by AF Corse.

In 2015, Marotta made his debut in the TCR International Series with Target Competition, driving a SEAT León Cup Racer. He joined the team for the event at Red Bull Ring, expressing his enthusiasm for returning to motorsport in the TCR, viewing it as a sustainable touring car category.
