David Summerbell

David Summerbell is a highly accomplished Jamaican racing driver with a career spanning over two decades. He began his racing journey with motocross and road racing in his native Jamaica, eventually transitioning to rallying. Summerbell's early career achievements include winning the 1998 Michelin PRO Rally Championship, securing victories at the Rim of the World and Lake Superior PRO Rally. In 1998, he also won an International Invitational Racing meet in Cayman and the CMRC in 2009. His successes weren't limited to the Caribbean, as he became the first person from the region to win the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) US Pro Rally Championship in the 1998/1999 season, driving a Mitsubishi.

Summerbell is known for his versatility and has competed in various racing disciplines throughout his career. Beyond racing, he's an entrepreneur at Bell Communications Limited and was the secretary for the Jamaica Race Drivers Club (JRDC).

More recently, Summerbell's legacy is carried on by his son, David Senna Summerbell, who is making his own mark in karting. In 2024, Summerbell's son Senna and Tommi Gore were reportedly in discussions with Porsche for sponsorship in the ADAC GT4 Germany Championship, following in their fathers' footsteps.
