Christopher Pither

Christopher Pither, born on December 3, 1986, is a professional racing driver hailing from Palmerston North, New Zealand. Pither's motorsport journey began in karting, where he clinched three national titles before transitioning to open-wheel racing in Formula First and Formula Ford. He further honed his skills in the HQ Holden series, securing consecutive New Zealand championships in 2003 and 2004. His early success also includes a top-five finish in the Toyota Racing Series, paving the way for a move to Australia and the V8 Utes series, where he captured both the New Zealand and Australian titles in 2011.

Pither's career progressed into the Supercars arena, making his debut in the second-tier Fujitsu V8 Supercar Series in 2006. Sporadic opportunities followed before he secured a full-time drive with Super Black Racing in 2016, marking his first full Supercars season. He showcased his talent by grabbing a pole position at Queensland Raceway. Since then, Pither has been a consistent presence in the Supercars scene, co-driving for teams like Erebus Motorsport, where he achieved a personal best fourth-place finish at the Bathurst 1000, and Garry Rogers Motorsport. In 2020, he drove full-time for Team Sydney, achieving a best finish of 5th at Hidden Valley.

Outside of racing, Pither has a diverse range of interests, including classic cars, fitness, and cycling. His achievements include the 2018 Dunlop Super2 Series title and multiple pole positions in various racing series. He is also a qualified High Performance and Defensive Driving Instructor, holds a Heavy Combination Truck Driver license, and has a Certificate III in Engineering Fitter & Turner. Pither's career reflects his determination and skill, making him a respected competitor in the world of motorsport.
