Carl Rydquist

Carl Rydquist is a Swedish-American racing driver with eight auto racing championship titles under his belt, including FIA and Trans-Am championships. He's also a SAG-AFTRA on-camera stunt and precision driver and holds a Nürburgring Industry Pool driver permit. Rydquist's racing journey began in 1996 with sports car club racing, driving his father's Lotus Super Seven Replica. He quickly made a name for himself, winning the Göteborg Sports Car Club racing championship in 2000.

A pivotal moment in Rydquist's career came in 2001 when he won a Eurosport go-kart challenge, outperforming over 1,100 other racers. This victory paved the way for his first GT endurance ride with Apex Racing, where he secured the GT-class title in the Swedish Endurance Cup that same year. Since then, Rydquist has amassed numerous wins and fastest laps, securing several championship titles in series like the Trans Am TA2 West Coast Championship (2021), Trans Am Super GT West Coast Championship (2019, 2020), and the United States Touring Car Championship (2017, 2019). In 2005, he became the first Swedish driver to win the Zandvoort 500.

Beyond racing, Rydquist has worked as a test engineer and driver for various car companies since 2004 and has been involved in stunt driving since 2005. He also shares his expertise by coaching other drivers, some of whom have competed in prestigious races such as the 24 Hours of Le Mans and Daytona. Rydquist holds a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Chalmers University of Technology and currently resides in California.
