Andrea Piccini, born on December 12, 1978, is a versatile Italian racing driver with a career spanning single-seaters, sports cars, and team management. Piccini began his racing journey in karts before transitioning to Formula Opel Europe, where he finished third in 1998. He then competed in International Formula 3000. In 2001, he became a test driver for the European Minardi Formula One team.
After a stint in single-seaters, Piccini found success in sports car racing. In 2003, he joined Lister Racing in the FIA GT Championship, securing multiple podium finishes. He later became an Aston Martin Racing driver in 2006, racing their DBR9 GT1 car. He participated in the American Le Mans Series and finished second in the GT1 class at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. In 2011, he won the GT1 Teams World Championship and the Blancpain Endurance Series Teams Championship as an Audi works driver. Other achievements include winning the Spa 24 Hours in 2012.
More recently, Piccini has combined his driving career with team management. Since 2017, he has been running Iron Lynx Motorsport Lab, an ELMS and Italian F4 team, where he serves as part-owner and team principal. While dedicating more time to managing his team, Piccini continues to race in GT events, demonstrating his enduring passion for motorsport.
