André Negrão, born on June 17, 1992, is a Brazilian racing driver with a diverse career spanning various motorsport disciplines. Negrão hails from a racing family; his father Guto, uncle Xandy, and cousin Xandinho are also race drivers. He began his motorsport journey in karting at age 12, achieving the runner-up position in the Brazilian Karting Championship in 2006. His early career included participation in Formula Renault 2.0, Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0, and Formula Renault Winter Series.
Negrão progressed to the World Series by Renault 3.5, competing in 2011, 2012, 2013 and then again in 2015. He also gained experience in GP2 (now Formula 2) in 2014 and 2015. In 2016, he ventured into Indy Lights and had an IndyCar test.
His career took a turn towards sports car racing in 2017 when Alpine invited him to compete in the World Endurance Championship (WEC). Negrão achieved significant success in the LMP2 class, winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans twice, in 2018 and 2019, alongside teammates Nicolas Lapierre and Pierre Thiriet. The trio also secured the 2018-19 WEC super-season title in the LMP2 class. In 2021, Negrão stepped up to the Hypercar class with Alpine Elf Matmut, sharing the Alpine A480 with Lapierre and Matthieu Vaxivière and finishing third in the championship. He continued racing with Alpine in the WEC, driving for them for a total of seven seasons until 2023.
