Sean Walkinshaw, born on November 3, 1993, is a British racing driver with a rich motorsport heritage, being the son of the late Formula 1 team principal Tom Walkinshaw. Born in Brussels and raised in Oxfordshire, Sean grew up immersed in the world of racing.
Walkinshaw began his racing career in 2011 in the UK-based Protyre Formula Renault Championship. Progressing through various single-seater categories, including the Formula Renault Northern European Cup, he transitioned to sports car racing in 2015, joining the Blancpain GT Series. He initially drove a Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 before becoming a NISMO Athlete in 2016. In 2017, Walkinshaw made his debut in the Super GT Championship in Japan with Autobacs Racing Team Aguri, achieving a victory and finishing fourth overall in his first season. In 2018, partnered with Shinichi Takagi, he secured the Vice-Champion title in the Super GT series. In 2023, Walkinshaw competed in Super Taikyu with Hitotsuyama Racing.
Beyond his driving career, Sean Walkinshaw also established SWR, a team that competed in the BRDC Formula 4 Championship, showcasing his commitment to nurturing young racing talent.
