Ryan Briscoe, born on September 24, 1981, is an Australian-American professional racing driver with a diverse career spanning open-wheel and sports car racing across the globe. Briscoe's early career was marked by success in karting, followed by championships in Italian Formula Renault (2001) and the Formula Three Euroseries (2003). This success propelled him to a test driver role with the Toyota Formula One team.
Briscoe transitioned to IndyCar in 2005, showcasing his talent with Chip Ganassi Racing. He later drove for Team Penske, achieving eight wins and consistently contending for the championship, with a best finish of third in 2009. Beyond IndyCar, Briscoe has excelled in sports car racing. He has secured victories in prestigious events such as the 24 Hours of Daytona (2020, 2015) and the 12 Hours of Sebring (2013).
In addition to his racing achievements, Briscoe is known for his multilingualism, speaking English, Italian, and French. He became a naturalized American citizen in 2018, holding dual Australian and American citizenship.
