Ramin Abdolvahabi was an American racing driver and neurosurgeon who found his passion on the racetrack. Born on February 18, 1966, he passed away on September 23, 2024, after battling pancreatic cancer. Abdolvahabi was a familiar face in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge, where he primarily competed since 2014. He co-drove the No. 9 Stoner Car Care Aston Martin with Rob Ecklin, Jr. and achieved a significant milestone with a Bronze class victory at the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring.
Abdolvahabi found a home with Automatic Racing in 2017, under the leadership of team manager David Russell. He enjoyed racing with the team, appreciating the camaraderie and support among the crew and drivers. Beyond the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge, Abdolvahabi also participated in several Trans-Am races. He particularly loved Sebring Raceway, appreciating its history and challenging nature.
Outside of racing, Abdolvahabi was a nationally recognized neurosurgeon based in Wellington, Florida. He graduated from the Medical College of Virginia, completed his residency at Wayne State University, and established his practice in the Palm Beach area. His racing record includes 71 races started, 1 podium finish, and 1 pole position. He is remembered as a gentleman and a passionate competitor in the sports car racing community.
