José Pedro Mourão Nunes Lamy Viçoso, known as Pedro Lamy, is a Portuguese former professional racing driver born on March 20, 1972. Lamy's motorsport journey began early, encouraged by his father, a motorsport enthusiast. He started racing motorbikes at the age of six and transitioned to karts at 13, demonstrating enough talent to move into single-seater racing in 1989. That year, he clinched the Portuguese Formula Ford 1600 Championship in his debut season.

Lamy's career gained momentum in the early 1990s. He won the GM Lotus Euroseries in 1991 and the German Formula 3 Championship in 1992, establishing himself as a rising star. In 1993, he finished second in the European Formula 3000 Championship. Lamy made his Formula 1 debut in 1993 with Team Lotus, substituting for the injured Alessandro Zanardi. He later drove for Minardi, becoming the first Portuguese driver to score a point in a Formula One World Championship event at the 1995 Australian Grand Prix.

After Formula 1, Lamy found success in various racing disciplines, particularly in endurance racing. He won the FIA GT Championship and achieved multiple victories in the 24 Hours of Nürburgring. He also competed in the Le Mans Series, winning the LMP1 category in 2007 with Peugeot. Lamy's versatility and adaptability made him a respected figure in the international racing community.
